Tampa PBA Charity Fund
The Tampa Police Benevolent Association Charity Fund, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization. It was established on 01/28/09:
- for the benefit of the City of Tampa police officers killed or wounded in the line of duty and their dependent families;
- to aid said police officers and their dependent families in medical, financial or catastrophic need;
- to financially assist the City of Tampa Police Honor Guard with expense.
Since its inception, this fund has furnished a $10,000 check to the families of Tampa police officers when they were killed in the line of duty. The money is delivered to the family within 24 hours and provides them with peace of mind in knowing they can pay immediate bills (i.e. mortgage, electric, etc.) while dealing with the crisis. In August of 2009 this fund gave $10,000 to the surviving family of Cpl. Mike Roberts when he was killed and again, in June of 2010, $10,000 was given to each of the families of Off. David Curtis and Off. Jeff Kocab when they were slain.
Donations are tax deductible and 100% of your donation goes into the fund. The overhead, office space, and salaries are paid for by the Tampa Police Benevolent Association, Inc. (a separate entity). Fundraising for the Charity Fund consists of private donations and profits from the annual Our Heroes Charity Golf Tournament.
If you would like to make a donation to the Tampa PBA Charity Fun, you may do so in person by cash, check or credit card. Please make checks payable to Tampa PBA Charity Fund.
